The Byzantine generals problem is, how do you confirm that you’ve sent information from one server to another in a hostile environment. bitcoin allows for a distributed ledger secured by proof of work, so anybody running their own note can confirm that the data that they send has been sent and received, and this is secured by the value of the bitcoin allows for only 21 million bitcoin to ever exist

Solving the problem of double spend or making infinite free/cheap copies on a digitally native platform. Best used for money. Bitcoin's ledger is self audited by other participants so one entry cannot be added by one party. All parties must agree something happened.

Problem: if no one is to be trusted, how can there be an agreement?

Solution: Objective proof-of-work (trust-less)

Going to bed. Will zap best answer tomorrow morning. GN! Stay humble stack sats!
