I’m still trying to figure out the relay situation on nostr -

- are there any recommended popular/general social ones I should add/join, or are the default ones loaded by Damus and Snort Social usually ok to stick with, maybe some sort of directory I’ve overlooked ?

Being here reminds me of those cool A/V pirate underground clubs from back in the day (fun times) - I perceived relays as specific “clubs” to add/join but maybe my perception of that is wrong here ? Tyia!

Default ones are good enough to get started with. Just keep in mind not to add too much relays (most people try to aim around 10), as they tend to eat a lot of data.

There are some special relays popping up such as wss://purplepag.es - that only stores profile meta data (name, bio etc) - and nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft released a new relay today that only accepts notes that have a max length of 140 characters
