I'm mulling over whether or not to play with ZapStream , but I'll only do it if I can multicast alongside PeerTube. I had an nginx restreamer back in the day, but it spontaneously broke at some point and I'm not sure how to make it work again.

Zap does appear to have a stream forwarding function that could relay to PeerTube via RTMP but that would put them at the center... failures at ZapStream would knock PeerTube out too, and I don't like that.

OBS has a plug-in that makes multistreaming as easy as possible.

Zap.stream itself has native multistreaming though, if for any reason you either don't want to use a plugin or use XSplit lol.

I saw the restreaming option on Zap, but I don't like having it be the chokepoint that detsrmines if the stream reaches PeerTube or not.

I did try sorayuki's plugin, but I can't get it to work... probably because my distro is slightly behind the curve, so I can't run the latest obs-studio at present

Ah, that's a shame.

What distro are you using presently?

For gaming, I use Ubuntu. Currently Focal, I know I should bump it up to Jammy at least but if it breaks my setup it'll be hell to piece back together

Flavor, or plain Shitbuntu?

Honestly expected you to use a privacy-oriented OS like Alpine.

Vanilla everything. For gay-ming, I want shit to work with minimum difficulty.
