I am in Bavaria and I'd go back to Andalucía right now if it wasn't for my family affairs. The moment I'm not needed here any longer I'm gone again.
Cost of living is like 4x here at half the actually quality of life or less.

Particularly in Europe I would look to the southern ☀️ places in winter. I’ve had a positive impression of Spain a few times. Not sure the freedoms situation - I am guessing it’s more relaxed than Germany.
A lot more relaxed if you live in a small or rural place. Rule of thumb is live your life as you see fit and as long as it doesn't affect others (negatively) nobody cares.
I'm Germany everyone cares more about what their neighbours do than their own stuff.
