I gave up social media since about June 5 but I downloaded Twitter on Saturday when I heard about the assassination attempt. I just deleted it again. It’s such a bloody cesspool I can’t believe anyone voluntarily spends time there and I feel bad for people who have to use it for their profession.

Fb and instagram have lots of problems but there’s something about the structure of Twitter and the algorithm that just creates a black hole of misery. (Changing the color scheme from blue to black makes a lot of sense.)

I do not understand how the spam can be so bad. It is not even clever or sneaky. So much of the crypto scam messages are all identical to each other and should not be hard to filter.

My conspiracy mind says it is all intentional to get everyone KYCd and on premium.

Many things but probably most of all the fact that the guy in the middle of it is claiming that he’s solved free speech, which is the most 1984 thing we have going outside of the book itself. Which would be one thing if he was a crazy person ranting on the street but there’s millions of people who believe him - that’s the most excruciating part to watch.
