i dont think the OP was saying it was a 'bad standard'. their concern was being able to 'trust' the software. since grapheneos is open source anyone can view the source code to see if anything nefarious is happening or where security issues may arise.

Also, the main developer Daniel Micay was a bit unhinged so for some people there is a 'trust' issue to get over.

Honestly the first paragraph is appreciable. The latter is subjective, being knowledgable of what the project, moderation team suffers regularly, let alone being targeted as a public individual with far worse is truthfully objectively inaccurate.

Not something beyond that I'm willing to discuss as generally deteriorates into bad faith probing dragging the projects name into a manufactured circus.
