If you are going to Nostrasia, don’t be alarmed by a lot of people wearing masks. Masks in Japan were used long before COVID days. Main reason being allergies and protection from pollen. It can get really bad here during some seasons. 🐶🐾🫡 nostr:note1d9hvqp64ptaxf0tsd35pjkecacgmlm43ar4rgw05qkhz6q2dy8lqa7l8xw

And the PM2.5 pollution, and just being considerate towards the public in general when you're sick and trying to MINIMISE (not eliminate obviously) your capacity to infect others...

Absolutely! There are many reasons 🐶🐾🫂💜🙏🏻

Good reminder here. I lived in HK for a couple years back a decade or so ago and it was totally normal to wear masks as a courtesy also, in addition to those reasons.

It is an Asian thing for sure. Same for Mainland China before and now.

It’s the “taking off shoes when inside” that I find Americans still struggle with. I’m now at the point where I can’t even think of shoes on inside a home.
