Thoughts on getting a 1TB vs 2TB SSD for a Node? What's the ETA on a 1TB getting filled?

2TB for peace of mind. 1TB is good enough for a few years but you have to monitor the block chain size every few months

Thought that might be the case, thanks

You're welcome, i just checked the blockchain size and it looks like it's around 566GB. It took us 14 years of bitcoin's history to reach that size, so it seems you could get by with a 1TB disk. The OS will probably take 4GB of that space, and node software let's say around 2GB.

Still, I got myself a 2TB disk because I didn't want to have to think about it.

Thanks for taking a look. I'll be running the actual machine off an RPi so will have an SD for the OS. Will still get a 2TB just in case of anything else that gets added on other than the blockchain
