Even though he's a socialist in the end, in these particular circumstances he'd get my vote, as a compromise option.
Democrat does not always equal socialist. Just like Republican doesn’t always equal white supremacy. Those are the extremes.

It's a non controversial statement. He is for State mandated redistribution of wealth via taxation and for "welfare". Thus, a socialist.
