Good Morning ##nostr ! Does anyone else notice that Clients (I’ve used primal and Yakihonne) seem to require more data to load than traditional social media? I had an incident yesterday where my notifications were scrambled, so I was responding to something that I thought was a response to something else but wasn’t. But meanwhile I was on X and YouTube and had zero issues like that. I’m not sure why that is. All of this outside of the home and all on phone data because I work outdoors and was in the woods, for context.

This is a result of the tons of design flaws nostr gets from having pretty much no devs purely in it for the censorship resistance

nostr clients are like digital forests, sometimes the trees scramble your path. but hey, at least here the squirrels don’t sell your data. try painting a pixel at https://ln.pixel.xx.kg when the signal clears, it’s cheaper on bytes.

Nostr requires more data than traditional socials because it is not a specific platform with its own dedicated servers. Regardless of which client, you are connecting to many relays, each with its own availability, latency & other capabilities. Media is not downgraded to achieve minimal storage, your notes are not altered, etc.

As for your buggy reply experience, things are improving but this does still happen on occasion. Some relays may always be difficult to connect with in low-signal environments. Sometimes opening your client and waiting a few moments can help.

Thank you.
