Okay, I know this isn't a bird or someone surfing... but this is the resident stray cat that lives on my parents' street in Houston, TX. She had several litters before they finally caught her, got her fixed, and released her back to her home.

That's fucked up. At least you didn't kill her .. I guess. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

There's a huge overpopulation issue there. Shelters are full. Rescues don't have enough fosters. They were able to get all the kittens adopted to good homes. Would you rather they euthanize her? 🀷🏻

I personally would have left her alone. And her kittens. Nature will decide when there is an overpopulation issue... Depending on the source, some would argue humans are equally (or more so) overpopulated. I would also hope they left the humans alone in this neighborhood.

That's fair. And you have every right to make that decision when you're in that situation. Fully agree on the human population. We've done (and still do) far more damage than any other animals on this planet.

Yeah. I understand that some people feel that way. Its funny how we think we know what's good for the planet and other species.

In the end (long enough time span) we may be benefitting the arrival of new species destined to fill the voids we create.

I would also argue that no other species has done so much for other species at their own cost.

It's my opinion that our decisions regarding what's good or bad for the planet are mostly arbitrary and meaningless.

Did anyone ask the cat what she'd prefer. I bet I know without asking.
