I wrote this song over ten years ago, but just today played it for the first time in a while and realized that parts of it have taken on new meaning for me.

Most of my writing is just shared with friends and family, but I want to share it with you all this time. Just the lyrics for now. Three verses, no chorus.

🎶

Dusty road, slowly traveled

Where all the wild things are

Look back, look back for just one second

Look forward to find your way home

You won't find truth out on the highway

Or wisdom growing on the trees

Collective worth of all your trying

Disappointment in all that you seek

🎶

Enlighten me, oh turning waters

Of the storm calmly waiting

But when you break save what breath you have

For mine has managed to escape

And please let me drown that I might be reborn

Of a skin soft porcelain

Into the light of a brand new morning

By this dusty road I will remain

🎶

My words are lost among the shadows

Of the pines and fatherly cedars

But rest amongst their fallen brothers

To be kept as a blanket for the Earth

And without fail new light will shine tomorrow

To be swallowed again in night's embrace

And years will pass by without warning

The only signs are written on my face

🎶
