Samurai. Did a workshop in Kyoto while I was there. During the training, the teacher pretty much said take a couple of swings with the katana and then get the heck on out of there. Sounded like the right combat strategy for me.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has to be up there.
I like the fact that you can control your opponent without inflicting permanent damage. No strikes or head trauma. And it allows a smaller person with great technique to completely control a larger person with zero technique.
Not to mention It’s gained a lot of popularity in the past 20 years so it’s pretty easy to find a dojo and others to train with.
BJJ, there's something primal and wonderful about wrestling around. You can go nearly 100% and not worry about serious injuries. It's like running while playing chess and if you don't think fast enough a big sweaty dude chokes you
