Question to myself: Can I trust a trans person? If they are mentally ill, and believe they are the opposite sex of what their genetics dictate... can I trust them to be informed and intelligent? I haven't decided, but my gut reaction is "of course not, how can I?". Could I trust someone who doesn't accept physical reality? At what point does a person become considered "insane"? I guess that's different for everyone. I try to follow the "don't trust, verify" motto anyway, but it was something I grappled with today. Wouldn't have expected to have to ask myself this question. I try to be empathetic.

Wow. Great point

If they are human, not likely. Hang around with them for about ten years or so, and you might find out if you can.

I put trans sexuality in the same category as schizophrenia.

Why do certain segments of society demand that trans sexual delusions be treated as “reality” while never accepting the delusions of schizophrenics?

Schizophrenics are medicated and given legitimate disability status (and even barred from voting by courts in extreme cases) whereas transsexuals are lauded as brave “heros” and weaponized politically.

Possible reasons:

- child sterilization, fewer traditional families to reduce population growth

- reduce parental rights to promote state control

- promote societal conflict

- promote intrafamily conflict

- DEI to reduce meritocracy and undermine western prosperity

Agreed. It’s also a contrived “issue” that politicians can leverage for votes.

Yeah back in the day all trans patients were basically falling on the psychotic/autistic spectrum, and treated as such. Now that transsexualism has become a part of identity politics, and has become a cultural thing, we see so many neurotic patients having gender dysphoria, especially young girls.

Yeah definitely feels like a political think tank realized they could take advantage of advocating and essentially promoting the transgender ideology and then weaponizing the cohort for their own ends.

Every person is unique and should be responded to based on their own actions and words.

the trans people I've encountered in real life have been trainwrecks. I knew a male who wanted to be female, he lived in an upstairs loft in an apartment. It looked like a hoarders room up there, no room to walk, empty pizza boxes stacked to the ceiling. I have never seen anything like it. Very obese. I had many normal conversations with this person.

Couple of things here:

-you may be conflating biological sex and the concept of gender… as I understand it, trans people accept their sex (external reality) while debating their gender (internal reality) and so they seek to align them

-this internal conflict doesn’t have any direct affect on their ability to judge objective/external reality, their recall, their morals, intelligence, etc.

I personally try to evaluate each person as I meet them and try to be objective as possible. I don’t think categorizing someone with gender dysphoria as untrustworthy by default is helpful in this evaluation.
