it's a really bad smell... i used to think it was the smell you smell at a dodgem car with those meshes and the electrodes... no that's mostly the smell of boiled copper
get a mercury UV lamp and turn it on and within 10 seconds you will want to turn it back off
that is ozone, super nasty
