I can't recall for sure, but I don't think I've ever reposted any of my posts. Once I get something off my chest I'm satisfied. I don't really care about reach I guess, nor do I want to come off as annoying, repetitive, or pushy. I've stopped following people who repost a lot.

I think it's acceptable to repost some high quality replies since those get almost no visibility in most clients.

Good point. I'm not bothered by that.

Reposts get no visibility at all on coracle ;)

(Unless quite repost)

agreed

I agree

What about time zones?

Possibly I wouldn't see the same post many times, so that wouldn't bother me much.

This is actually a good reason for clients to implement more complex feeds that are not just time linear.

"Reposting so that the australians can see it" is not exactly the best UX 😅

reposting your own content is peak trying too hard.

I may add an option to filter out reposts by the same author, unless the original note is more than N days old (or something).

it honestly is not an issue, why bother.

Yes, reposts are quite annoying

It's a kind of an algorithm

Is it possible to turn off the repost button on the gossip?

It could be coded that the button is missing or dysfunctional underneath posts you authored. But I don't want gossip to be opinionated. I want it to be enabling.

I have to re-think my approach then. Once I read here on Nostr that it is more like broadcasting again rather than traditional reposting.
