This year, I'm automating self-hosting. My goal is to have all the services we use done by the end of the year. Nextcloud, jitsi, gitlab, matrix, element, bind, djbdns, the PKI/CA server... all of it.

Sone of the things I've done have already starting to get reused. It's getting easier

One I've got that rock solid foundation, it'll be time to rip. 🔥

keep it up! 💪

Post about your progress. Very interested to see what you’re doing. Also, running your own CA is really cool

I'll try to remember to post about it more.

I don't want to post about it before it goes through code review and gets deployed, but after I submit it for review, I kinda forget about that particular change and move on to the next thing

I need a social media liasion. Haha. Someone who can hold my unverified achievements and keep asking me "Did this get deployed? Did that get deployed?" and then post about it when the answer is "yes"

What will be the basis for that automation? Kubernetes, Proxmox, NixOS or something else?

Proxmox to run the VMs

Ceph to store them & allow live migratiton

Terraform to create the VMs

Ansible to manage the software/configs

All stored in version control

Nice stack! I'm excited to follow your progress.

Im going through the same thing. Have new rack mounted hardware on the way to run it all.

We should join forces. Are you on team proxmox, terraform and ansible?
