Why does a Nation have to define itself by War? Why not by Art?

Well how does one, let's say politician, extract money from the taxbase for themselves via art??
A politicians constituents would never understand turning on the money printer to buy art but defending us from aliens is a no brainer. Hell they even tried by spreading a bad cold and that didnt work either. War it is
Well, I mean there is the national endowment for the arts… millions in subsidies to Hollywood too… not mainstream political drab but the money’s definitely there 😬😪
