I think meth is a more destructive issue than opiates. Both are horrible, but meth turns people in the literal worst versions of themselves. Meth users become absolute monsters. But regardless, advertising how bad drugs are for you isn't going accomplish a damn thing. Addicts don't give AF how bad it is for them. They're physically addicted, and they need the drug to prevent withdrawal. This is such a dumb plan that it could only come from Trump.
There are no easy answers. And I’ve worked volunteering with addicts and homeless populations for years. Obviously 🙄 they aren’t the same but there is often overlap.
Someone told me I’d die as a martyr. Enraged me, like yo, YOU’RE the reason addicts exist. Lack of empathy and compassion. Now I mainly donate financially & friend, it’s a **lot** less stressful. Truly.
The burnout is so very real.
