My consult for surgery is in two weeks and I am soooo sick of waiting. How is she now??
Discussion
She’s better than she’s ever been.
What kind of surgery? She met with 3-4 surgeons before finding one that really specialized in Endo and performed the latest and greatest laser removal.
She had lifelong terrible symptoms and it was lasered off from nearly every surface and organ in there, plus a hysterectomy. Doc said he hadn’t seen many cases that bad.
She woke up from surgery and started crying because the constant pain she’d always had was gone. It’s been a few years now and she’s never been happier or in less pain. Cramps are gone, back pain is gone (except normal age-related pain). She still technically has endo, and gets nervous when she does have some cramps or pain, but it’s always far more mild and it will hopefully take decades to grow back as bad as it was.
Only real side effect was that the surgery made her lactose intolerant, which she’s still coping with, but agrees that is a minor thing compared to the endo.
I’m already lactose intolerant so I have nothing to lose. I found an endometriosis specialist, but have been on the waitlist for 5 months. I get to see her in 2 weeks and we will discuss options. Obviously it will be some sort of laparoscopy, idk if they are gonna recommend full hysterectomy or not, but I’m open to anything. Is your wife on nostr by chance???
She had laparoscopic laser excision surgery and did an insane amount of research before finding that doctor. Pretty sure that’s still considered the best method.
If they recommend a hysterectomy, see if you can keep your ovaries. That way you still ovulate and create hormones so you don’t go through forced menopause.
Also, the doctor will likely tell you they may not know exactly what can/should be done until they’re actually in there and looking. At least that’s how it worked for us.
