#asknostr any advice on an e-book reader? They all seem overly expensive for what they do.

I love the Boox Palma, but I also use it for pretty much any media. I'm writing this comment with it right now! But what I love about it for reading ebooks is it's the right size, other ereaders seem way too big.
My wife loves her Kindle Paperwhite. Got it for her for Christmas 2023. Super long battery life and looks like paper with no blue light. Solid choice.

Kobo was the most free as of when I got mine about 2 years ago. No issues using Calibre to load Project Gutenberg books onto it and read them or with Saif House books.
