the đź”” tab in twitter was more or less designed to get people to come back to the app. purely self-serving.
before that we had a “mentions” tab, which served as a place to gather conversations and replies. an inbox for you, of sort.
i prefer the latter. Good to see some clients (like gossip) go back to this.
build what you want! not what the current mainstream apps dictate.
The bell icon feels about as pleasant as an early morning wakeup alarm going off. Anxiety condensed to symbol.
