No no. It's not fats OR carbs. That's fine. I get that.
It's about fat AND carbs. That's a whole different matter.
I have been on the carnivore diet (more or less) since Jan. I can feel a big difference when I cheat. And I think there's science to it.
My view is that is Dangerous to combine lots of fat with carbs. But protein and fats alone should be fine, yes.
