Unplugged and Signal are both messaging apps that use end-to-end encryption to protect user's messages, and both apps use the Signal Protocol for encryption, which is considered to be one of the most secure encryption protocols available. Both apps also include additional security features such as two-factor authentication and are open-source, which means that the code can be independently audited by security experts.

While both apps are considered to be very secure, there are a few differences between the two:

Signal is a non-profit organization, which means that it does not have the same profit incentives as Unplugged and is less likely to make changes that could compromise user security.
Signal is an older and more established messaging app, which means that it has been audited and reviewed by security experts for a longer period of time than Unplugged.
Unplugged doesn't collect metadata and does not have access to users' contact lists, while Signal may have access to some metadata but they claim they do not collect or keep it.
Overall, both Unplugged and Signal are considered to be very secure and privacy-focused messaging apps, but Signal has more reviews, audits and is a non-profit company.
