⚡️🚨 NEW - Ledger is phasing out the Ledger Nano S, the best-selling crypto hardware wallet in history.

They caution that ongoing support for the Nano S is not guaranteed and are urging users to upgrade, requiring them to re-enter their seed phrase into a new device.

This process exposes users to phishing risks. A Ledger data leak has already led to a surge in targeted scams, including fake but official-looking letters sent by mail, prompting users to enter their seed phrase into fraudulent devices.

My Ledger was smashed with a lump hammer then furnaced after the data leak. A Horrible company.

Not paying attention to those guys as much anymore…

Ledger is a company that every now and then does something so incredibly stupid that it makes you wonder if they are intentionally trying to destroy themselves. I mean, look at this picture... How incredibly disappointed you would be if you saw your kid wearing one of these!

I bought one only a few days before the the data leak - since then it has been untouched in the drawer. I'm still getting annoying scam emails.

Ledger may actually be great, but my trust is shaken since then.

Security is ultimately a state of mind. 😏

This kind of news is not in favor of hardware wallets, in my opinion.

If you need physical access to your hardware wallet and software like Sparrow wallet removes support for that device, I'm not sure how to connect to it. Assuming we're not using the company's hardware wallet software e.g. Ledger Live.

Would Sparrow continue to support this device?

I see no legitimate reason a software wallet should ever end support for a hardware wallet.
