Imagine... a morning alarm clock at full volume that can't ever be snoozed or disabled. You want to get out of bed, but you were raised, taught, and continue to have reinforced the idea that getting out of bed is bad... (a whole other metaphor 😉)
At what point is the compulsion to destroy the frustratingly annoying and distracting alarm clock too much to resist?

It's a real lifeboat, and one that people can use in their own countries.
The lifeboat of the rich countries' welfare systems so many are trying to clamber onto are about to sink. But let's keep "welcoming" more until it does. Never been a more compassionate and diverse mass drowning.
