If corporations are what spoiled the American political system, how do we hold both "Capitalism is good" and "Government oversight is bad" beliefs?

Is Capitalism not the thing that spoiled the American political system?

Is it fiat money that enabled all of this?

The problem is that a powerful government gets captured by corporate interests who use the law to benefit themselves.
