Yes convenience stores and vending machines are very nice here. It's a tough economy, but fortunately food and drink prices haven't gone up too much. Also Japan is good for lager beers, but if you want an ale beer it will cost about 5,000+ sats. I brew my own ale beer which costs about 25,000 sats for about 3 liters, this is why I was confused about the price.
