It is indeed, it’s indoctrination of the beliefs. I don’t think it’s good or bad, but I know it exists because some need it, while some can be without it 🐶🐾🫡
To use an example from a religion not my own, the Venerable Pema Chodron once said, “I’m going to try to brainwash you. Hopefully, it will be useful brainwashing. If it’s not, you should reject it.”
Exactly! My opinion is: if I can manipulate you to become a better version of yourself, I am going to do it without hesitation! 🐶🐾🫂
Perhaps... While the line between propaganda and teaching can be blurry at times, the best differentiator might be found in the expectations of the teacher.
Do they teach with the expectation and hope that at some point you can have an understanding so integrated that you can play at their level, or do they want you to close your eyes and shut down thoughts of opposition?
You can believe in fallible men, or you can believe in what God/nature has bestowed to you. Religions blend the two, some more than others, and some mainly for some ulterior motive.
