Muun only pretends to use lightning. In reality each lightning payment triggers an on-chain swap. Ever since about February of this year BTC on-chain fees have been high. Muun is not doing well.

Well, they definitely use lightning. I should have said they pretend to be a lightning wallet. They are an on-chain wallet with a very expensive lightning integration.
