This is ideal but with AI, it can be pretty easy to find this guy. And if he has a family, it’s not worth endangering them imo. Government tends to make an example out of these types of people.

If no one is willing to stand up, there is no victory.

Agreed. But people are more willing to stand up when they can hide among the crowd. Assange and Satoshi are two good examples. Satoshi’s impact was made without endangering himself. If Assange was anonymous, he wouldn’t have wasted precious years of his life rotting in prison. I respect both but I can never expect someone to take on such a burden.

Expectactaions are one thing, but to take someone that's willing to stand openly, and telling him that he should hide, is a move in a backwards direction.

I get what you’re saying and it’s a valid point. Standing openly is very powerful. I guess I just see it as trying to help someone be safer. It’s like telling someone who openly talks about Bitcoin to practice privacy by using things like coinjoin and multisig.

In Europe, the blade runners were putting on masks and taking down surveillance cameras. I think the masks allowed more people to get involved and obscured the number of people rebelling. If they weren’t wearing masks, surveillance footage can count how many people were rebelling with certainty. But with everyone wearing masks, it becomes more unclear. It’s easier for more people to join in at anytime because they can also stop at anytime. Once you take that step, you can’t go back.
