The consequence of our sin is death. Biblically, death is defined as separation from God. There is physical death, but there is also spiritual death. After physical death, all of us will be resurrected, some to be eternally separated from God (called the second death in Revelation). But not all! He loves us and through Jesus gifts us forgiveness and eternal life. All we have to do is receive.
