A US startup, Friend (they have a pretty website btw, friend.com), made a necklace with a mic + LLM that listens, reads emotions, and texts you in the app like a “real friend.” A Tamagotchi that cares about you.

It raised ~$8.5M, but it’s constant recording, cloud data, and toxic attachment. Lose it, and your friend “dies.” NYC subway ads were quickly vandalized 😄
