A US startup, Friend (they have a pretty website btw, friend.com), made a necklace with a mic + LLM that listens, reads emotions, and texts you in the app like a “real friend.” A Tamagotchi that cares about you.

It raised ~$8.5M, but it’s constant recording, cloud data, and toxic attachment. Lose it, and your friend “dies.” NYC subway ads were quickly vandalized 😄

Yeah I was hesitant too because of that, but I actually enjoyed it. It doesn't really seriously investigate or philosophize about anything. The "Revolutionaries" are kinda mocked and shown as unhinged and foolish at times.

With keywords like anti-fascism, white supremacy, xenophobia, anti-racism, and with Sean Penn invlolved, it sounds like cultural Marxist political activism in the name of entertainment.

I'll be sitting this one out.
