I agree. But it’s clear to me that Hamas gives fewer fucks about the Palestinian people than Israel. And if that’s the case then the Palestinians are truly fucked. For Hamas, the populace seems merely a tool to be either radicalized or used as shields. This shit should have been over months ago. The US should have told Israel to do what it takes to eliminate those terrorist sons of bitches, and we should have given them whatever they needed exactly when they needed it. All this “diplomacy” bullshit is for the birds. To quote the great Les Grossman, “We don’t negotiate with terrorists.”

Hamas is doing what it thinks is in the best interest of their people. The populace hasn’t turned against them despite the brutality of this war so it seems that they have support. Israel can’t win a war against an insurgency. We tried it for 20 years and lost in Afghanistan and lost in Iraq. What Hamas has done is draw Israel into quicksand that they will struggle to get out of as economic and political effects take their toll. This seems to be Hamas’s strategy. It worked for the Taliban and the Iraqi insurgents, probably going to work here too. Israel is too blinded by rage and the desire for ethnic cleansing to notice.
