Hey Ed, I just finished reading Permanent Record, and I just want to say I'm so, so glad we have such smart talented people like you on our side!

That there are so many people who believe so strongly that the gov should be able to do things which are so obviously wrong and destructive is one of the craziest things in the whole business.

That you managed to be a part of that community and rise so high without getting brainwashed seems like one of the most extraordinary tricks, second only to the sheer technical prowess and discerning judgement to pull it all off.
