Trying to install Bitcoin Knots on Start9 OS (0.3.5-1) via Community Registry. It shows as “installed” but redirects to Bitcoin Core. nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll, I guess this a UI bug since Core and Knots can’t coexist. Do I need to completely uninstall Bitcoin Core and re-download the entire transaction history with Bitcoin Knots? Having a clearer Marketplace UI would help new users avoid this confusion. #start9 #bitcoincore #bitcoinknots #asknostr

Thank you! Unfortunately, I had already uninstalled Core to install Knots, so now I’m stuck downloading the entire chain. It’s a good exercise anyway. It should be done in a couple of days.

Copied from X

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you already have Core installed, to install Knots you should:

1. In the StartOS System tab, click the "Manage" heading 5+ times to enable developer mode.

2. Click "Reinstall" on Knots in the Community Registry.

3. If you get a notification claiming the install failed. Don't worry, it succeeded. You just need to open Knots config and click "Save".

Knots is now installed instead of Core. There no need to resync, and all dependent services should be happy.

In startOS 0.3.6 this will all be unnecessary, and the process of switching between Bitcoin implementations will be streamlined.

Also best if you stop Bitcoin service before switching to Knots. Then restart once the switch is complete

Thank you. Unfortunately, I uninstalled Core, so I’m having to resync for the next couple of days.

I have completed this. However, the RPC credentials have not made themselves available to electrs and LND. I have reinstalled a few times now, restarted the unit as well.

dope. love you Start9! 🔥
