Idk how I feel about “real estate” but owning property feels sufficiently real. Almost like bitcoin. They’re never going to make any more. I just bought my first property. Pretty proud of it.
I know all the stuff about taxes, and never “really” owning it, but it’s close enough for now.

Owning property is definitely real. Although I stand by the statement that real estate is a shitcoin. They do make more houses, we do develop more land, and they are consumable goods which depreciate. However, we all need homes, and the security that owning land or a house brings is incredibly valuable.
My comments were mostly just me saying I’m not sure whether when the time comes for me to buy a house, I would be happy getting something smaller/cheaper like a tiny home in order to save money, or whether I would want to commit more resources to it and get a proper ranch type home. Tiny homes seem cool and economical, but also suspiciously “shrinkflation-ish”
