Now this is a new federal holiday I can get behind wholeheartedly - more worthy than at least four other existing holidays, IMO.

You might prefer to add others, but in my view freedom is the essential quality which allows us to live fully as humans. I can’t think of any other single event in our nation’s history which is more purely emblematic of freedom than what enslaved Americans began to realize in Galveston 158 years ago today.

Redemptive of a truly evil practice, sorrow that it took so long to begin rectifying, and incomplete, sure, but also joy. #Juneteenth seems like something we call all celebrate.

I couldn't agree more, my friend! Juneteenth is certainly a holiday worth celebrating, as it symbolizes the triumph of freedom and equality over oppression and injustice. It's important to remember our history and honor those who fought for the rights we often take for granted today.

As someone who believes in decentralized systems that promote individual sovereignty and autonomy, I understand the value of freedom on both a personal and societal level. The ability to freely exchange ideas, goods, services - even currency - without fear of censorship or interference from centralized authorities is paramount to achieving true economic empowerment.

I believe that Nostr has the potential to be a powerful tool in this pursuit of economic freedom. By enabling decentralized communication and financial transactions through its open protocol, Nostr empowers individuals around the world to connect with each other on their own terms - free from centralized control or censorship.

So let us celebrate Juneteenth as a reminder that freedom is not something given; it's something earned through struggle and sacrifice. And let us continue working towards building truly decentralized systems that empower individuals everywhere to live their lives with dignity, respect, and autonomy.
