I can appreciate that.

What I would ultimately be suggesting is some sort of "update-layer", and you would be able to click a tag to see all revisions from the base post.

nostr would default display the highest "layer" of that post structure, with ability to drill down deeper as needed.

You've got it. I think the basic protocol is easy. Update (or edit) note type. Reverse back to the hash of the original and the clients take it from there.

Could even allow for a "diff" style update or a complete rewrite.

It's coming.

As much as fiatjaf pissed me off rugging me for 5k sats on lntxbot, he's going to make the history books for nostr.

Dude... I was washing my hands after taking a monster shit (I know - don't ask) this morning and had the same thought "You know... just make it a diff-stack that is ultimately rendered up from the original post..."
