I drained my IRAs into BTC in 21 and 22. Paid the tax then and the fucking arbitrary penalty. All of that tax and penalties seems like a rounding error now.

I think it’s hilarious people don’t realize your retirement account is in large part the government bailing itself out on your dime.

For those in bitcoin long enough, we are at that “oh, yeah, like any sale of bitcoin I could make is essentially pure gain.” Tax rate on capital gains is less than income, and your retirement account withdrawals are considered income, not capital gains.
