I believe the Trivium was removed from public education intentionally. It now takes outside effort (from themselves or others) for people to learn the concepts related to critical thinking.

it kind of doesn't matter because the mindless will be mindless even if you teach them critical thinking. they are motivated by 'easy' and thinking requires effort and sometimes some discomfort, which they also avoid.

Yeah, you can't fill a closed bucket, but there are plenty of people that would be able to apply discernment when taught what to look for.

Just because most people don't know or practice orienteering, does not mean they would be opposed to, or not able to, learn how to use a map and compass together.
