Am I the only Bitcoiner who wants a place I can pay to store a shard of my private key?
I want a physical location I can drop off my SSS/XOR/Pass Phrase. Such a business wouldn’t take up much space?
What are the hurdles?

You want…a safety deposit box?
probably safer to just find your own dead drop hole in a wall somewhere.
years ago i watched a weed dealer do this in sofia to get a baggie to give to me.
anything related to the government is gonna be a dead end until they are all arrested, tried and executed.
I use the KISS (keep it simple stupid) method. I use keepass. It has clients for almost every device.
I sometimes store a passphrase\password in a keepass vault, ONLINE! lol.
That way I can access my high entropy passphrase\password from any one of a number of devices.
My keeypass vault is very hardened and optimized. I know many people have a knee jerk reaction to storing anything online.
But they don't really know what they're talking about. I don't store the seed online. Though I'm sure that a shard could be stored safely.
Or one of the seeds to a multi-sig configuration for cold storage.
The probability of anyone getting enough seeds plus the high entropy passphrase\password is next to impossible.
Since at no time do I have full control of the necessary seeds. And with Super Shamir I can use layers upon layers of shards. Based on my level of trust for each layer and group.
This is in addition to all the other things I mentioned. Can't give anyone what I don't have and neither can anyone else. Collecting all the necessary pieces can be done.
But it would be very risky for a bad guy, and would fail..💀👮♂️
You just have to carefully think about what you're doing.

I’ll have to consider this more. For now I have cold storage separated in different countries with family/friends. Mainly so I can’t get it in the case of duress. But I’d pay for that service too which would prevent family/friends being leveraged again me. Others have mentioned safe deposit box and that’s probably what I’m looking for.
A safety deposit box meets that need. It’s not immune from a warrant but if I understand your desire breaking up a pass phrase into pieces and storing across different deposit boxes and some at home is probably what you want but they can all be raided potentially.
Yea, I suppose so. I was thinking of something I could pay for in Bitcoin and was specifically for holding fractions of a priv key so it didn’t need the security of safety deposit boxes. Having said that, I don’t even know how safe those are.
