Thanks! My wife made all the selections, she is happy with it as well.
It is move in weekend, after the house has finally been finished. The big move will be on Monday, but we will move little stuff in, until Monday.
With the straw down for grass seeding, Iām Noticing water flows. Iām thinking of putting trees out here where the rain gutters currently empty into. And diverting the rain gutters into water tanks maybe eventually a cistern. So this back drainage will be overflow into trees. But once we complete the move. The real observation begins.
Iām thinking of over seeding this because itās quite late in January and March.
Iām thinking orchard grass and clover, any thoughts? Eventually want to establish fruit trees, chickens, rabbits and sheep (maybe). Southwest Ohio.

Except, Non-citizens do get their day in court. Citizenship status isnāt the justification for this executive action. The justification claimed in executive orders is that we are at war with Venezuela because they are at war with the US on account of their land invasion across the southern border.
To say that a stock is at a record high the metric you should look at is price of the stock divided by the earnings the stock is expected to generate in the future. Earnings the stock is expected to generate in the future is a forecast and itās going to be subjective. You can use trailing earnings, or shiller earnings as a proxy, or try something more complicated.
Stocks are at a high though not a the highest they have ever been. Therefore they are overvalued by this historically looking metrics. In order to believe they are not overvalued someone needs to believe the earnings in the future will be about double what they currently are generating. And the narrative you may hear for why earnings will be double in the future compared to what they are currently is beliefs about AI and its impact on efficiency.

That is the plan but I need to control erosion first and get something growing in the soil. Current plan is clover plus some kind of grass for the region.
Expected move in date is second week of November. We put the current house up for sale and we are under contract. Things are happening fast. Any good advice about seeding and starting a lawn?

I agree we donāt know all the facts, and Iām not an attorney but For your own benefit in the future let me assure you the statute that says they can : ā(1) to interrogate any alien or *person believed to be an alien* as to his right to be or to remain in the United States;ā Needs to be a reasonable belief based on something. It not an excuse to detain for any reason. Based on what we know I hope she does sue, on appearance I donāt see what reasonable belief they would have had to arrest her for being outside her apartment. Proximity to your apartment doesnāt make you more or less likely to be in the country illegally. The best I can do would be to say they had evidence that there were a lot of illegal immigrants living in the apartment. But I donāt think that would hold up as itās not specific enough to her. Itās casting too wide a net to say ābecause I know a lot live in this apartment I can detain anyone without a warrant for this enforcementā Thatās my problem generally, on appearance these are warranties arrests without probable cause. And itās not just an inconvenience itās a violation of the 4th amendment protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. Violence isnāt going to be seen as legitimate against the state until if the magic undefined tipping point where the state looses its monopoly power on violence because they are clearly violating constitutional rights is reached. Some segment of the population is protesting because they believe there are constitutional violations happening in mass. Itās interesting to watch.
You wanted to know how the state incites violence. And how they are inciting violence particularly in this case. Iāve described it. Mass arrests of non violent offenders in a heavy visual presence, disturbing the life in residential areas, by people not trained to police while respecting constitutional rights, predictably create the protests. Heavy handed crowd control predictably radicalizes the protesters. Videos of the protestors being violent is the outcome the state wants so that it can justify bringing in the national guard and polarize the population.
What is the possible probable cause of arresting a natural born citizen because you didnāt have an ID on you while being outside your apartment. Since they turn out to be a citizen it canāt be that they have paperwork with your name on it back at the office. They are arresting because they donāt know who you are, not because they know who you are and they have some prior evidence you committed a crime. Arresting someone because youāre not sure if they didnāt commit a crime is all kinds of constitutional violations. The ask is not to me on how they can satisfy the base without inciting violence. The ask is for them on how can they enforce the law without violating the rights of people.
The fact that the state is presently pursing the enforcement while appearing to not care about the rights of people is the point of the protests in many cases.
I think you should search out more videos that actually go into asking the actual protestors why they are actually protesting. I have showed you what I have seen.
Yes there are people protesting because their dad was taken.
Yes there are people protesting because the states enforcement of helicopters and drones and search lights woke them up and they think itās overkill in their neighborhood.
Yes some people are protesting because they donāt want to see military exercises in their city.
Yes someone is protesting because they were a false positive and felt the state violence.
Yes there are protestors because they think this is a slippery slope to authoritarianism and they think they are standing against it.
Yes there are protestors because they are anti Trump.
Yes there are protestors because someone died in ICE custody.
Yes there are people protesting because someone was taken by ICE and they havenāt heard from them.
Yes some people are protesting because they just donāt think they should be enforcing with violence against a non violent crime or offender. Yes someone is protesting because they want to punch a cop. Itās all down there.
My main point is that the state has choices, they can enforce the laws in ways that grow discontent of the population they are policing and they can enforce the laws in ways that encourage trust with the population they are policing. Federal agents and border patrol are not the police, they arenāt trained to be police. They donāt know how to interact with the public in inoffensive ways. As a government You should not release the federal agents and ICE and border patrol onto the population it will agitate and radicalize, itās predictable. They donāt have the correct training. Bad crowd control stimulates violent protests.
But also, hell no itās not standard practice to arrest someone for coming out of their apartment. How is that probable cause.
Less than 30 days ago people though the right price for btc was 109k US dollars. Today people think the right price for btc is 111k US dollars. Seems reasonable to me. Canāt be too surprised by this.
This is Portland, not Chicago where the apartments were.

But the escalation is the example is what happens a lot. The full story is never the 3 minute clip. You would need to watch atleast the hour in advance of the 3 minute clip to understand why what is happening is happening. And I grant you I donāt have time for all of that. Iām not saying the protestors are always in the right. Or that I would make the same choices as they are. But I do have enough time to specifically search for the protestors perspective and not just accept the narrative Iām being fed by those attempting to get me outraged.
You have an internal sense of justice and fairness. Whenever someone treats you violently when you think you didnāt deserve it, it violates that sense of justice. And your human instinct is to be violent in retaliation.
You are a citizen, you live in an apartment, your three year old daughter lives with you, your wife lives with you. The state knocks on your door at 3 AM, your asleep, your not fast enough, they kick in your door, they put a gun in your face. Your family is cuffed, brought outside, interrogated. Your wife is cold, your daughter is crying and shivering. You didnāt do anything wrong to bring this on. Your family is separated children go in one car, you in the other. You are asked for ID, itās not on you, they ask for name, DOB, and if you have warrants. You comply, You donāt have warrants. After a few hours the state lets you go after checking the system.
Are you not radicalized by the interaction? More prone to join a protest?
You join a protest to show your displeasure in being woken up at 3 AM and treated like a criminal for no reason. Others at the protest donāt have the same story as you, they were in the apartment too, they are your neighbors. You know them, they know you. Your kids play together on the playground behind the apartment. Their husband was taken that night, they havenāt been able to get any information since. Youāre both outside the ICE office. The crowd has grown since when it started at 4:30pm itās now 9:00pm. Some have left but others have taken there place. Itās rowdy. A police line comes from the ICE office in crowd control gear, dressed in black and shields. They line up against your protest line, they are walking toward you in unison. You still havenāt done anything illegal. Your heart picks up, someone on a loudspeaker declares this an illegal gathering. Youāre blocked in on either side anyway, but you donāt want to leave just because they tell you to. You want accountability, they treated you wrong, you didnāt deserve the treatment. After declaring it illegal three times the police line makes contact pushing humans on top of each other with shields. You fall on someone else, another falls on you. You scramble up and back away and human nature takes over. The police line approaches again, you try to stand your ground, you push back. Adrenaline and anger and the feeling of injustice fills you. The police line comes again you are ready, this time you catch pepper spray.
Legally staying past the third call to disband and being told it was an illegal assembly puts you in the position of this force being applied to you. But you didnāt actually do anything, youāve been standing in the same place all day. You havenāt done anything wrong. Maybe members of the crowd did maybe itās a gray line. But you didnāt. This is the second time the state has used force on a group. Some in the group deserved it, perhaps they were violent, perhaps you told them to cut it out yourself. But again the force is being applied to you all the same. Your feeling of injustice is greater. You call your friends they come to the next protest, they are treated the same way as you. Your friend gets a lot of pepper spray in their eyes. They scream in pain and kick on the ground.
Are you more radicalized than you started, sleeping in your apartment before they kicked in your door?
Law enforcement action will generate false positives, crowd control will generate false positives. The heavier the hand the greater the measure of injustice felt and the more radicalized people become. Eventually a rock is thrown at a car itās not you but someone does. Again and again. Until your tribalism fully kicks in itās us vs them. We have shared water, and held together when the police lines came. They have used each excuse they could to shut us up, including violence. Eventually you do what comes naturally.
Iām not saying you would make all these same choices but I can see how state enforcement on a group will catch up people that did nothing to deserve it, and it grows from there. Thatās why protests everywhere always grow as the enforcement gets harder. It brings people off the sidelines. And itās the purpose of the protest in many cases to illicit a response to get the normies radicalized to join the cause.
Until something truly horrific happens or the state is able to change their tactics to reduce the interventions of this kind of heavy handed crowd control.
Trump wanted in Chicago weeks ago, we just happen to find ourselves on the brink of the insurrection act being used and national guard being pulled in? Iām not at all surprised. They were trolled and baited.
Chicago but the same:
The action: https://x.com/DHSgov/status/1973796727615598738
(Just for the dramatic footage?)
The perception of the action: https://youtu.be/vFh5yBIxTpc
The reaction to the perception: protests
The next action: respond to protestors heavy handedly, radicalize the protestors, increase the size of the protests.
(Just for the dramatic footage?)
Broadcast footage, radicalize the population in favor of the state.
Repeat.
A weekend with my daughters cubscout troop at Cub family weekend. From my perspective it was all pretty terrible. The food was cheap carbs camp food, the camping was open field in the sun. One night sleeping in camp is always trash sleep. Everything felt rushed, and there were so many kids, each kid only got one rotation on the activities. Getting exposure to the activities is the bright spot, fishing, BB gun range, archery range sounds great on paper. But the limited time makes you question if itās worth it and the hassle. And the fishing gear is always broken. The fourth āactivityā was conservation which was 30 minutes of quizzing the scouts on what recycling is, or what a fossil fuel was or what a renewable resource was, followed by 15 minutes of pulling weeds⦠and then finally three rounds of tug of war. There are so many things you could actually do for conservation with these age of kids to spend most of the rotation talking made no sense to me and a good quarter of the kids are bored and act out with the other half bored but keeping it together.
But as I nurse my sunburn and sore muscles. Some of the worst parts are already fading for me. There were parts where the kids complained, sure. But they say they had fun. A certainly moments where I witnessed them having a blast with their friends, so I hope this will become one of those cases where the adults were miserable but the kids were blissfully unaware, so excited to be doing the novel thing. And memories of Dad at campouts will remain. I got my #31days in today and yesterday for sure. The 14 thousand steps today doesnāt do it justice, carrying the pack and my youngest off and on from station to station (he was too tired to walk before, he is now running laps in the house šš) and packing everything in and out.
The internet is a rage machine. Iām not 100% certain Nostr is different perhaps to a lesser degree because there are less direct algorithms pushing it.
Yes, centralized identity at the federal/national levels makes the abuses of an administrative state possible. I think most of the complaint about ādigital IDā is not from what is presently being proposed but the fear of what an administrative state could do with it. An SSN is already ārequiredā for so much of our lives itās not really voluntary though i donāt believe it is technically mandatory to have one. But that just means they have all the carrots and sticks structured to get us to opt in. Once a unique individual is tied to a unique value the state can then determine the standing of that individual. And if the state is allowed to restrict access to systems with that value then we are in a tough spot. But the Trojan horse was allowing a unique individual to be represented with an immutable value at all. I can make similar arguments about street addresses. Whatever the state wants to tax it must be able to uniquely map and track.

I especially like the part of the chart where the US dollar didnāt exist yet.

Funny how Trump's 50m in autism funding gets overlooked by a passing comment about Tylenol that even the manufacturer supports (not taking it during pregnancy). Lefties are are such shit people.
On first reading I thought you were saying Trump personally donated 50m to autism research. Thanks for the link that clarified the US government (NIH) gave 50 million in funding for autism research.

Checked out the house, they have started added the stone to the front. Exterior siding complete, septic system is in, starting to think about where the kitchen garden will live. I had drawn a location for planning but the land has been reshaped from the build.
We donāt have a sump pump as itās a walkout basement Iām thinking of tieing the garden into the drainage for the house so it will be perpetually watered from the water being drained from the soil around the house. Still have to think about how to do it. Or potentially will put fruit trees there.
I also have a pile of cement left over from a deconstruction of something left on my property, like a barn or something. Trying to think of uses for that. So far Iām thinking anywhere from using it for a terrace to using it for a rockery for reptile habitat and anything in between. Anyone know how to move large blocks of concrete in a low tech kind of way?

I was thinking it wouldnāt make much difference in getting to a repeater if it was inside the attic or outside on the roofline. But this will be a new property so not quite sure what to expect.
