Sugar coating is one thing. Tainting it with all kinds of toxic poison is another. Assumptions breed animosity towards the unknown. If you’re not talking from personal experience of being gay or being raped as a child by a gay man, which may very well be your case, then your “realist” take is not “reality” for anyone else but you.
