There is wisdom in learning from suffering of others. King Solomon had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray (1 Kings 11:1-6). He shared his bed with a different woman each night only to conclude there were no righteous women (Ecclesiastes 7:28). He bemoans the fact that he could not know true intimacy with a single one. (I'm sure he knew at least one he wrote book Song of Songs.) False intimacy is the real underlying harm of porn and adultery. It rots us inwardly, robs of the intimacy God designed for each us to experience.

Wow, that is powerful. Thank you for sharing. I haven't gotten to that part of the bible yet, but it makes perfect sense to me and sheds a lot of light on what I am witnessing around me.

There seems to be a lot of interest in polyamory these days. Many popular books written about it and lots of people experimenting with it.

I have come to view it as nothing more than avoidance of deeper intimacy and a recital of past trauma patterns. In other words, sinful, painful, destructive behavior.

However, I don't condemn anyone outright. We all live in unconsciousness (sin) much of the time. There is only one judge 🙏
