Or is it ? Cant find it anywhere

WoS is a completely custodial lightning wallet.

It's hosted on their infrastructure & they generate revenue by converting your onchain sats into lightning sats.

It's lightning as a service.

Why do you think it should be open sourced?

Yeah. Am aware.

Why shouldnt it ?

Its a minimum standard as far as i am concerned.

I would consider it good business practice esentially. Especially given the industry and product.

Anything less just leaves you ripe for disruption imo

I think that your last point is the only one that matters.

I think it's totally fine for businesses to have proprietary software, it's their choice.

But, if the market demands open (or at least verifiable) software, then that choice should carry consequences.

Totally agree.

Its a choice, and imo a suboptimal one. But the market will decide.

I guess fundamentally i just find it pretty ironic any bitcoin companies choosing that path

Being open source is not helping you when the open source software does not control the private keys.

At WalletScrutiny.com we usually don't ask about source code when the source code does not control the private keys but neither have I noticed ever a project that would have an open source client to manage custodial coins. Only some wallets that have custodial accounts next to non-custodial accounts.
