I'm going to write something politically incorrect (and long).

I've been on #nostr since October 2022, thanks to the fantastic podcast where #[1] interviewed #[2] I discovered this wonderful rabbit hole that has me in love.

As I guess some of you know I've been developing nostrcheck.me since last month, doing my best to offer a reliable, friendly, easy for everyone and open service.

But above all this, in all aspects of my life I have always tried to be honest, treat everyone as they deserve, respecting them and always taking the time to deal with all the questions that have come to me (via DM's, etc.). Regardless of who is speaking to me or from where or even how they ask me.

Today I was moved to see a post from a guy who is trying to create and develop on nostr and has not found any support beyond mine. This guy wrote me by DM to show me his code (to me!), I tried to review it and give him an answer to the best of my knowledge and possibilities. Surely this guy also sent DM's to other developers and probably (I can't know) they didn't answer him.

I will confess one thing, naively I did the same, I sent some DM's to known people in this network hoping for some help or feedback, but (with some nice exceptions) almost nobody answered me. Nothing.

Don't get me wrong, #nostr is wonderful, the people I have met here are wonderful, but there are a few who (I think) should rethink their relationship with the rest.

Just yesterday I had a fantastic conversation with another developer, where the phrase "centralized cartel of providers" came up. I think we all have to be very careful not to leave all this great technology in the hands of a few.

Let's help each other, let's support each other, the enemy is not inside, he is outside and when he comes we have to be prepared.

Happy Friday to all πŸ’œ

Yes, please share code, advice and help - whoever reads this. We are still in the survive or die phase and all play for the same team! πŸ€—

You are absolutely right, we are in the same boat and #nostr is still too fragile. Thank you for replying #[4] πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

#ipfs is possible option for #nostr #relay server #storage part πŸ€”πŸ₯Ί

A lot of services are working just on that question πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ Thanks for your reply’s #[5]

i am not that deep qualified expert but I had once p2p type disk allocation for #ipfs node linux - what i point out is if can rope in many layman users - if we make something non intrusive n tap in to NON-utilized diskspace of many home users (no office no datacenter) with/without incentive - it can vastly improve #nostr #DB - (just chaindb blocks of btc)

If you want we can talk by DM. I have some similar ideas πŸ˜€
