A buddy of mine is getting married and hoping to have a baby in the next few years.

Today he asked if there are any good sources of information for pregnancy outside the traditional medical system.

I know there are a ton of parents on here who have dug deep on this so I thought I would ask.

Specifically he asked if there's a time period after stopping birth control where it's safe or unsafe to begin a pregnancy. #asknostr

We had 3 miscarriages within 3 years of going off BC. They found a small amount of endometriosis and gave my wife some antibiotics. Endometriosis is supposedly from birth control use and causes miscarriages. That went away and the next pregnancy stuck. Not a definitive, helpful answer, but I’d encourage a test for endometriosis after going off BC, and using antibiotics to clear it if it exists Just a personal anecdote, and not a fix all.

Wow that's tough man. Thank you for sharing that. Were you able to have children afterwards?

4th pregnancy stuck. Got a due date of 1/20/25. God is good.

Very exciting man! I'm happy for you

We are beyond excited. Still surreal.

My wife went off birth control and we got pregnant nearly immediately. We did the birth through a birthing center that was essentially an old house ran by midwives. Was an amazing experience. 100% natural birth.

Take supplements (we’ve been doing organ meat supplements lately, highly recommended), eat well, get exercise, and enjoy the process 😉

Depends on the type of BC. If menstrual periods return healthy and consistent that should be the green light. Get off BC asap and learn to track the cycle. I tracked my cycle religiously for years after I came off of hormonal BC to understand my fertility and as soon as we got married we tried and welcomed a healthy boy 10 mo later. Sadly had a miscarriage at 8 wks with our second try, but now 5 mo pregnant with a girl after our third try at 36 and 45 yo. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence but I also timed conception so I’d have a boy first and a girl second, next ones will be freestyle! Best of luck to your friends!!

Wow thanks for sharing your journey and good health to all three of you 💜
