The oldest creosote bush colony dates back 11,700 years. To me, this plant is the epitome of resilience and healing that the Sonoran Desert embodies.

The leaves and stems can be used to treat burns, cuts, and snakebites, pain and inflammation, fevers, respiratory problems, digestive issues, and have cancer fighting properties.

I feel blessed to live surrounded by this bush. After a rainfall, the air is filled with the smell of creosote bushes. It is always a reminder to me that the desert will survive the drought and a season always comes where life will thrive again.
